Chapter Philanthropy and Service

Zeta Tau Alpha's national philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Within the Lambda Upsilon chapter, we pride ourselves on our strong philanthropic values and dedication to this cause.

Each spring, our chapter has the honor of hosting the Rose Quartz Gala supporting The ZTA Foundation and Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. This gala consists of a silent auction, a Kendra Scott Sale, presentations by speakers whose lives have been affected by breast cancer, a live artist, and a warrior wall activity which honors those who have survived breast cancer and those who have lost their lives to this disease. It is a very touching and fun event that ties ZTA’s together with our nearby community as well as with our friends and family.

Every semester, the Lambda Upsilon chapter hosts Think Pink week on the UW campus. Think Pink week supports the ZTA Foundation and Breast Cancer Education and Awareness through events such as Pie-A-Zeta, Pops for Pink, Cookies for a Cure, educational speakers, passing out Think Pink ribbons, and percentage nights. This is an exciting week that raises awareness for breast cancers and raises funds for research towards a cure.

Each year, through our partnership with the American Cancer Society®, the Lambda Upsilon chapter sends members to act as National Survivor Ambassadors of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® at one of the nearly 300 Making Strides walks held across the country. At these walks our members provide support and encouragement for both fighters and survivors of Breast Cancer.
